"My parents are incapacitated to look after me"

"My father Mr. Vetrivel is mentally ill and he wanders in roads. He eats food wherever he gets it. At times comes to home. My mother Mrs. Kalaiselvi was the one who was earning for feeding me and my brother. She was working as a coolie in the construction work. It was all going ok though not well till that dark day. All our sufferings worsened on that day when my mother was working in a three storyed building. She fell down from the third floor and got injured. The construction contractor admitted her in the hospital and paid for the initial expenses. The doctors found that my mother's spinal cord is injured and she could not even sit. She had to stay in bed and till now she is in bed. She needs somebody's help to undergo her daily chores.

Now the only bread winner is bed ridden and we have to depend on our grand father to feed us. My grandpa who is also a construction worker and with his hurt feet could not take care of us. It was then our neighbour aunty who is working in New Life took us to the home run by New Life. The madam there after listening to our story and asking me a few questions admitted me in the home.

Now I am having a contented life with sufficient food, good home, friends and loving care. The only thing I miss is my mother's love and my brother who does not want to come away from my mom. But the love and affection shown by the team here makes me forget that." When he narrates his story Anbarasan's eyes are filled with tears. Within a minute he smiles saying that he will study well, become a police officer, earn well and take care of his mother and treat her.

Small lovely children like Anbarasan whose parents are incapacitated and who have nobody to take care of are being supported by "Poonjolai"- the home for children run by New Life. If these children are not being admitted to the home, there is a possiblity of these children being abused, left in the streets, with their naked vulnerablity to evil elements.

Your donations are used to protect these children from abuses, feed them, provide them a good loving shelter and a decent clothing till they become 18. We have a warden who takes care of these children with affection and groom them in a disciplined way. There is a cook who assists the warden by cooking food and cleaning the home. The total monthly expenses of the home including food, clothing, doctor's fees and medicines, warden's and cook's salary, etc comes to $850.

With your noble support and trust in our cause we are sure that the children in our home will be raised as good citizens of tomorrow. Thank you for being with us in raising these children. Kindly provide us more support by spreading words to your friends and relatives.

Thanking you.

With regards
