Education is the movement from darkness to light ~Allan bloom
Girl child higher education is a crucial in rural area. Improving access to education for girls is an issue need to be address which exactly Gram Vikas Trust is focusing on in the remote villages of Gujarat. I was reading an article on “why we should support girl education” posted by Chima F. Madu. She has rightly mentioned that “Education is very important for every child whether boy or girl. It is sad that some communities still discriminate against the education of the girl child”.
Recently we have supported 3 girls (Meeta, Rehea, Ileana (name changed)) through this project. They are in 10th standard, sooner they will be appearing for board examinations. I would definitely share their results with you as it’s you all who think of their education. There are many more to whom we still need to support for further education.
I happened to visit the school before 15 days. I do meet and converse with all the girls in the school. Ileana came to me and she simply told me that “I am going to write much better in this exam it seems, Thank you for giving us excellent reading material and all other”
Thanks to all the donors for making it possible and believe in us. Please share your view about our project and make suggestions if we need to improve in the way we work.
“Give a girl an education and introduce her properly into the world, and ten to one but she has the means of settling well, without further expense to anybody.”
- Jane Austen
