FAWE GIRLS CLUBS

By Juliana Osei | Coordinator-FAWE Ghana

Good afternoon,

My name is Dramani Faiza. I’m studying Tourism in Morocco. I am from the Northern Region of Ghana, Walewale to be precise; a town in the West Mamprusi District. I was once a member of FAWE Girls’ Club and FAWE through the Club, really motivated me. The Club’s activities had positive effect on my life,,,,,but when I went home for holidays last summer, the Club was not existing again in WALEWALE. Please I want to know why?

     Sincerely,

     Dramani Faiza

Mary Sassah is my name. I used to be a member of FAWE Girls’ Club during my Junior High School days. I testify that it is a Club that has actually benefited a lot of girls including me. I, personally, have benefited both socially and academically. Through the Club, I acquired skills like: self esteem, critical thinking, negotiation, assertiveness, public speaking, leadership and many others that have kept me going till now, I also won full scholarship into a Senior High School. In 2009, FAWE Ghana crowned me FAWE Girls’ Ambassador. Currently, I’m a final year student of Valley View University in Ghana, pursuing Business Administration with sponsorship from the Grey Felder family from New Jersey, USA who are friends of FAWE Ghana. After graduation, I plan to establish Girls’ Clubs in schools, in towns I’ll be working in. I can say with confidence that I’m what I am because of my association with FAWE Ghana and the Girls’ Club. As a sign of my appreciation for what FAWE Ghana has done for me, I always work for the Chapter during long vacations. My prayer is that FAWE Ghana continues to attract more donors to enable it continue the good work it is doing. .
