This project will build two blocks of accessible toilets, five toilets per block in two schools for younger disabled pupils in Wakiso District central Uganda, hopefully this will promote inclusive quality education for younger disabled pupils among able boarded pupils. Such accessible toilets will reduce risks of disease infections to disabled pupils, hence, reducing their healthy risks resemble those of their known disable peers. Apparently disabled pupils will enjoy quality services in society
In Namayumba Town council is one of the roll administrative units in Wakiso District and around 500 disabled pupils attend school together with their non disabled peers as result of universal primary education (UPE) programme promoted by government. Most of these schools do not have accessible structures including toilets. This project proposes to restore the toilet facilities so that they become cleaner tidier and accessible to accommodate 400 disabled pupils for a start.
By providing accessible toilets we host 400 disabled pupils along side there non-disabled peers in these two schools.
More disabled pupils from the community will increasingly in attend school in line with SDGs motto: leaving no one behind." These pupils will be better prepared for higher education, job market and to contribute to improved health in their community.
