The Resource Center for Orphans is a well-equipped space for young boys and girls ages of 16-25 who leave state-run institutions of Ternopil region in Ukraine and an opportunity to access to resources needed for development and learning to social skills. The Center established in 2011 by orphanage graduates themselves, as Ukrainian government stops providing assistance to orphans when they leave a care system. Hundreds of orphans have used its services to solve everyday problems.
When boys and girls in ages of 16-18 leave the state-run institutions in Ukraine, the government stops providing necessary assistance to continue them to develop and succeed. Without a place in Ternopil, orphanage graduates would go into crime or prostitution to find themselves in a comfortable place without thinking about final results. Some orphanage graduates do not have access to washing machine or shower.
The Resource Center runs by orphanage graduates themselves since 2011 and created a comfortable atmosphere for any orphan who needs assistance. Everyday our youth comes to this Center and find a solution to their problems. Each graduate knows that older orphans who comes to the Center went through life experience and can help them provide needed assistance and together learn basic things in life. The Center has everything that any human needs to develop and learn.
About 50-55 orphanage graduates annually learn and develop life skills by having a space and free access to educational and social resources in Ternopil area of Ukraine. The Center will decrease the number of street orphans or those who involved in crime. Every year, the number of orphans will continue to start their own families and business and continue to support the younger orphans.
