Summary

Help us and save the association!! Covid-19 has disabled the Fundraising Campaign that year after year allows us to work for our children. We have closed our services until further notice due to lack of resources. Your donation will help rescue the mission that was already celebrating its 36 years of work in Costa Rica. Our mission is to support all children born with a Cleft Lip/Palate malformation by providing rehabilitation services, temporary stay and food. Help us rescue smiles again!

Challenge

Every year in Costa Rica, we receive more than 85 children with the malformation, who must go through a recovery process that takes 18 to 20 years. In our country they receive surgeries at the National Children's Hospital, however many families live in remote areas, and they travel many hours to be able to access this treatment. This is why the shelter service we offer becomes essential so that many families can keep appointments and surgeries timely and safely.

Solution

This project will help us reactivate our services and continue our mission of rescuing smiles. Our association provides specialized care (language therapy and psychology) for all those families who otherwise could not count on this important support in the rehabilitation of their children. We do not receive help from the state, that is why your donation becomes so important and makes a difference for all those people who without our support could not continue with their children's treatments.

Long-Term Impact

Completely and comprehensively rehabilitate all those children and young people (85 -90 per year) who have cleft lip/palate condition in Costa Rica. During the last 36 years we have given support to more than 2500 families. Thanks to our work, the social and health condition of all these children and young people improves exponentially. Without our association, hundreds of children would not be able to attend appointments and surgeries. We improve the quality of life of our patients.
