Operation Freedom in Pawwala Street Red-Light

Rescue of 02 girls from Room No 8 and 10, First Floor, Krishna Building, Pawwala Street, Grant Road, Mumbai, Maharashtra on 17th February 2011.

02 girls were successfully rescued on 17th February 2011, from Room No 8 and 10, First Floor, Krishna Building, Pawwala Street, Grant Road, Mumbai, Maharashtra. 

 

Particulars about the investigation and ensuing rescue operation are explained belolw:

 

Source of information -:

 

Rescue Foundation received information about the presence of some minor girls in Room No 8 and 10, First Floor, Krishna Building, Pawwala Street Red-Light area, Mumbai for forced prostitution. Immediately, our President Mrs. Triveni Acharya instructed the investigation officers to investigate about the authenticity of the information.

 

Investigation -:

 

Rescue Foundation’s investigation officers visited Room No 8 and 10, First Floor, Krishna Building, Pawwala Street Red-Light area as a Decoy Customer and confirmed that there are totally 02 minor girls being forced for prostitution in that said place.

 

Rescue Operation:

 

On 17th February 2011 Rescue Foundation team went to the D.B.Marg police station to discuss on the information which was received from the information network of Rescue Foundation about the presence of minor girls forced into prostitution in the Room No 8 and 10, First Floor, Krishna Building, Pawwala Street Red-Light area and also requested to provide police protection and help for the purpose of rescue operation.

 

On the same day at 08.15 pm, a team of Rescue Foundation and police officials consisting of Investigation Officers, informer, 2 punch and required police staff moved towards Room No 8 and 10, First Floor, Krishna Building, Pawwala Street Red-Light area and conduct a successful rescue operation and rescued 02 girls from said the place. The Police officer of D.B.Marg Police Station asks some questions to the Rescued Girls and they stated that Miss. Rani Sing (Age-35) is our Brothel Keeper and she takes half earning from us;

 

After that police took a Custody of Miss. Rani Sing. Then police had brought her to the D.B.Marg Police Station and completed the all legal formality.

 

Currently the 02 Girls are staying in our Kandivali protective home.

(1)       Miss Karishma Momin Khan - Age 18 

Addresses: Village - kolatuli, Taluka – Tinamar, Dist – North 24 Paraganas, West Bengal.

(2)       Miss Babita Mahavir Pandel - Age 17

Addresses: Dist- Murshidabad, North 24 Paraganas, West Bengal.
