Our project aims to rescue, rehabilitate and educate 100 children living and working in the streets of Kisumu city in Kenya.
Kisumu is estimated to host more than 1000 children and youth on the streets who engage in survival tactics that endanger their wellbeing and that of the society. Most of these children and youth are abused, neglected, exposed to criminal and gang activities, suffer poor health ,exposure to harsh environment, drug and substance abuse, and exposure to HIV/AIDS infection. The project will rescue, rehabilitate and educate 50 children from the streets and afterwards re- unite them with their families
We will run recruitment activities at the streets and rescue the children and house them at our rehabilitation home, give them opportunity to go to school and for those who had not gone to school and have grown up we will enroll them in a vocational training school as they go through the rehabilitation process and afterwards as they graduate we will re unite them with their families as we support them from home.
The project will give an opportunity to 50 children to enjoy their right of education and the right to be loved and given shelter. The project will also unite 50 families and build family bonds. It will also reduce the number of street crime in Kisumu.
