Repair 3 blocks of classrooms comprising 9 classes and 3 toilets. 2. Fixing of 9 classroom boards 3. Repair 3 toilets areas (one in each block) 4. Construction of classroom furniture such as chairs and desks Your donation will not only help us to complete these work for 211 students, but for many more yet to come.
St. Luke Primary School, constructed in 1960 has experienced various disasters ranging from flooding, stormy rains, to termite infestation till date. Of the 4 buildings, 3 are in a critical state of disrepair, thus, requiring comprehensive renovation. As the only primary school in a 50 mile radius, pupils are forced to rotate classes, write on the floor and ensure the harsh climate - rain and sunshine. Low attendance, demotivated teachers and blurred academic horizon of pupils is the norm
1. The renovated classroom will provide a conducive learning environment for the current pupils - 100 girls and 111 boys. It will also reduce the number of sick pupils due to a dilapidated classroom. 2. Parents will be encouraged to take their children to school rather than turning them to farm assistants and menial workers.
This will reposition the school as a go to place in the community, provide the needed environment to educate and empower young Nigerians. We believe this has the potential to boost the self esteem and psychology of the student towards an improved academic performance. It will further encourage parents to take their children to school rather than turning them to farm assistants and menial workers.
