Dear Donors,
The training on Kundan Jewel Making was completed on 19.01.2016. 25 trainees attended the training and they learnt the trade with much interest. Assessment was conducted on the last day of the training. Certificates were issued to the 18 successful candidates on 20.01.2016. The Deputy Inspector General honoured us and the trainees by participating in the valediction function and by giving certificates to the successful candidates.
Mrs. Raji (name changed), who was inside the prison for murdering her own daughter says, " When the training was started I joined it with less interest and with an intention of time passing. But on the second day I was eagerly waiting for the trainer. The training was quite interesting and the trainer was much friendly. She made us do things and now I am a jewel maker. I can make beautiful bangles, necklaces, earrings, anklets and what not? (a big smile). I want to go out soon, start my own micro unit and sell my jewels. This requires very less capital, you see! And the profit is more than 50% (another big smile)."
Raji was arrested for killing her own daughter who was wedded with lot of love, expectations and of course expenditure. After few years of married life, it was found that the daughter had extra marital affairs. There was a big quarrel in the husband's home. So Raji took her daugher back to her home and in anger murdered the daughter. Now Raji is waiting for her release.
$198.28 was spent on training the inmates. We had to buy materials for jewel making like beads, stones, frames, hooks, gear wire, ropes, etc. There is the travelling cost of the trainer and the counsellor who visited the prison during training. The honorarium of the trainer is included.
The DIG of Prisons wished the trainees a prosperous and peaceful future. The Innerwheel President wished them all the best and appreciated the interests of the trainees. The models made by them were so perfect.
Dear friends, only with the help of you we can achieve this. Without your moral and financial support the training would not have been possible. Thanks to the Innerwheel Club for supporting the venture partly.
Kindly keep supporting our project by spreading words to your friends and relatives. Your words carry weight. With donations we can continue to conduct trainings like kundan jewellery making (with less capital and more profit, short duration courses).
Thank you once again for all your support.
