Inclusive theater for children with hearing disabilities
Inclusive theater for children with hearing disabilities
In September we organized our sixth rehabilitation camp “Verba-6” for children with hearing and speech disabilities. The camp was held at a health center “Dachny”, where 25 more children successfully completed rehabilitation program, while their parents gained valuable communication and coaching skills.
With support from our Fund and organization “Rastem zdorovymy” (Grow in health), we participated in a project titled “Inclusive theater for children with hearing disabilities”. In August a number of young graduates from our rehabilitation program performed in a children’s play “Little sorceresses”, presented at Kyiv’s Children’s Theater. Young actors demonstrated their achievements as well as their acting skills. They worked hard, making costumes, creating decorations, learning choreography and their lines. Play’s plot was centered around the wonder of hearing.
Through this project we would like to educate as many families as possible that deafness can be reversed if a timely cochlear implant surgery is performed and followed by an effective rehabilitation program.
We express our sincere gratitude to our sponsors, who continue giving children an opportunity to live full and healthy lives!
Best regards,
Project manager
