One day training on Life skills based education

Report of one day training on Life skills based education

                                                        

 

Project information:

One of the project components is to build the capacity of the staff members for this purpose one day training on life skills based education for trainers whose are directly involved with children. The training was designed according to the understanding of the group. The following sessions were conducted:-

Introduction:

The training was started with the recitation of Holy Quran and then starts the round of introduction and LSBE was introduced. The group was involved in discussion on specific issue to highlight the importance of life skills based education. They were sensitized about the day to day life problems and coping with them constructively. After that we set the norms of this training with mutual understanding and also write down the expectations and fear about the training.

Decision making and problem solving:

 With the help of groups did the role play to clear the concept of problem solving and decision making and also explain and both the topics were discussed briefly. They were provided with the information to decide well and their problem solving abilities were enhanced.all the participants shair their experience and ideas. Also show the pictures on problem solving and decision making and ask the participant’s views.   

Self awareness:

The session was started with that individuals write down their strength and weaknesses. With the help of a short lecture the importance of self awareness was highlighted and a theory of two Psychologists (Joh and Harry window) was shared to make them understand their strengths and weaknesses to improve quality of life. Also discuss that this is very necessary that we came to know our strength and weaknesses. And this will also tell the children that every body has strength and weaknesses, but we could change our weaknesses into strength.

Creative and Critical thinking:

Briefly discuss these topics and share that what is critical thinking how we perceive other’s comments in +ve sense and bring a +ve change in our weaknesses. Then we also discuss the creative thinking’s that creative thinking’s are God gifted, we Draw Squares and said to participants that they generate more squares inside these squares. Another activity done that was on story making Facilitators give a start of a story and ask to all the participants that every body said only one sentence to follow the story and then give it a positive end. 

Health and hygiene:

Discuss the types of health and hygiene with participants also discusses how these relate to another. all participants said that whole types are very necessary e.g. if we take care of our personal hygiene but don’t keep our home clean then our personal hygiene is purposeless because we take infection from our environment so it is very necessary that we take care of whole types of hygiene like: - personal Hygiene, domestic, food, environmental, water and sanitation hygiene. Show the pictures on health and hygiene at the end of session.

.HIV/Aids:

start the session with that what is HIV/Aids participants told that it is a cureless disease then we write down the Abbreviations of HIV/Aids stand for what also discuss the causes, and precautions of  this disease its window period ,investigations and anti-Retroviral therapy. Very briefly discuss this topic due to shortage of time.  

.Sexual Abuse:

 Describe the types of abuses that how many kinds of abuses, participants said that all abuses are painful but sexual abuse is a big social evil. All participants said that this is a big sin prevailing in our surroundings. They admitted that        

All the sessions were conducted with enthusiastically and participants showed their keen interest and enormous contribution which made it a success. 

 

Outcomes of the training sessions:the training was evaluated by monitoring officer and suggestions for the further improvements were taken. All participants give feedback that training was very informative and they suggest that type of trainings conduct more and more for us.
