Join us in Portland on Saturday, February 28, 2015 for our 2nd Annual 5K Fun Run/Walk! This family friendly event is a great way to embrace the chilly weather and boost your energy level, especially if you are more of a runner than a plunger.
The 5K race will begin at 9AM near the Portland Airport Economy Parking Red Lot. This is a point-to-point course on the paved path along the Columbia River on Marine Drive and ends at the Polar Plunge site at Broughton Beach. Runners must raise a minimum of $25 each to benefit the amazing athletes of Special Olympics Oregon.
If you are looking for a more extreme form of exhilaration, consider adding a little splash to your dash by doing the 5K Fun Run/Walk followed by the Polar Plunge! Runners who raise a minimum of $50 can participate in the 5K race and continue straight into the Columbia River to Plunge, either on your own or with your team! Those who register to Run and Plunge and raise a minimum of $50 will receive a Nike long sleeve Plunge T Shirt in addition to running socks!
After your run, walk or plunge, enjoy the food and fun while watching over 2,000 people plunge into the Columbia River! Shuttle buses will run all morning to transport you back to your car.
