Summary

In west Nile region Arua district is leading in early girl child marriages and it also has high rate of inherent generational poverty in Uganda. According to the district education department report this month indicated that 94% of enrolled school girls , could not complete their primary schools due to high rate of poverty in the district. Therefore to sustain girls in school, the organisation aims at paying their school fees and buy for the sanitary towels.

Challenge

Inherent poverty among the community here could not enable the parents cater for the education of their children, therefore, by supporting children in school will relief the poorer parents from schools so as to enable them cater for the feeding of their children only,

Solution

project comprises community awareness raising campaign on girls' education, through FM radio talk shows, flyers, T-shirts for improving learning environment for retaining girls in school and reduce girls early marriages in the district.

Long-Term Impact

It will increase economic growth and increases productivity, including in agricultural production, It will improve womens 'wages and jobs, it will save the lives of children & mothers when increasing levels of girls 'education, and it will also reduce the incidence of infant & maternal mortality. It will lead to smaller & more sustainable families and also contributes in reducing population growth, It will result in heathier & better educated children, It will reduce rates of child marriage
