So far this year, 733 aid workers from 45 aid agencies have been trained and supported in humanitarian safety and security practice. 674 of these aid workers are national Sudanese staff - reflecting RedR's focus on building local capacity.
Staff from a range of institutions and NGOs were sent to be trained and supported by RedR, including the Government of Sudan, the UN, the World Food Program, Red Cross, Oxfam America and many Sudanese agencies.
Courses delivered included Foundation of Staff Safety, Management of Staff Safety, Kidnapping and Abduction, Communications, Security Guard Training Level 1 and 2, Field Travel Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Managing People in Emergencies and Managing Projects in Emergencies.
Staff also continue to be supported in their work through RedR's psycho-social support network.
