Hofstra University is raising funds to help Elevate Nepal, Inc. rebuild Sarsyu Primary School. The entire village of Sarsyu, including the primary school, was destroyed by the 2015 earthquake. Elevate Nepal, Inc's goal is to facilitate the rebuilding of Sarsyu Primary School up to earthquake standards
Sarsyu Primary School was heavily damaged by the 2015 earthquake and is now unsafe to occupy. Students are currently attending class in a rudimentary temporary structure, walking 2-3 hours per day to attend class or have discontinued their education due to the lack of a proper facility.
Elevate Nepal, Inc. will facilitate the rebuilding of Sarsyu Primary School, up to earthquake standards, to give the students of Sarsyu the education they deserve.
All over Nepal, one can see fading traditions and culture as many young people move to the cities to seek education or employment. The teachers of Sarsyu primary school believe in educating the children in a way that will keep them in Sarsyu and give them an opportunity for the future. Elevate Nepal, Inc. would like to help the teachers by coming up with sustainable projects to keep young people in Sarsyu through agriculture and renewable energy projects.
