This project aims to provide support for livelihood rebuilding of 100 women belongs to working as domestic worker, street vendors from Ujan Bazar, Hatigaon area of Guwahati. Many urban poor lost their livelihood due to Covid19 & lockdown situation. This project aims in providing the women headed family of urban poor group an opportunity to rebuild their livelihood by providing support in economic activity. This project has component to assist urban poor community in accessing government schemes.
Due to Covid19 pandemic many people from unorganised sector lost their livelihood. They belong to most marginalised group socially as well. Due to lack of support system, they are struggling to revive their livelihood. Lack of financial inclusion, lack of access to other services the community is still struggling to cope up with the situation.
FST has supported more than 1000 family during Covid lockdown as immediate relief support. While distributing relief to the affected families it was observed that short term relief is not sufficient for the families. The affected families required long term support to revive their livelihood to be resilient. and supported 111 families by providing support in economic activity in last one year. FST wants to extend this support to more 100 families by providing support in economic activity.
This project will benefit 100 women led families from urban poor pocket of Guwahati City. In long run these families will be resilient for probable situation of lockdown or lost of livelihood.
