This project aims at rebuilding lives of 500 children affected by the devastating Assam and Bihar floods that have displaced close to 1.11 crore people so far. CRY and partners are working to save lives and reach the most vulnerable children to provide urgent relief to hundreds of flood-affected families. There's an immediate need for items like food packets, temporary shelters with drinking water, sanitary napkins and learning material for at least the next 3 months. We need to act NOW!
Heavy flooding in Bihar and Assam have taken 166 lives and affected more than 111 million people as of 21 July, 2019. For children, everything familiar - homes, schools, villages and in some cases - loved ones and friends have disappeared and many children are emotionally traumatized because of what they have seen and had to live through.
Your urgent support will help us to: - Track the families who have not been yet reached out - Partner with Government to reunite kids with their families - Provide temporary safe spaces for kids and protect them from trafficking - Arrange health intervention to reduce the threat of epidemics in collaboration with public health facility - Assist in providing food and nutrition security through linkages with social protection schemes - Resume education for children for 3 months
Tracking the villages and developing protection measures for young adults to protect them from trafficking. Assistance for food and nutrition security through linkages with social protection schemes. Reconstruction of ICDS and schools in collaboration with Govt and local governance systems. Health intervention to reduce the threat of epidemics in collaboration with public health facility.
