Habitat Birmingham is continuing to serve families impacted by the tornadoes that came through on April 28th, 2014. We are just days away from starting on a home for a local family who was displaced after storms destroyed their home in Bessemer, AL.
Homeowner Denise had lived in the home for over 35 years, alongside her sister Annie and nephew, Torie. Denise is a military veteran and works locally as a machine operator. The family is looking forward to once again having a safe, affordable place to call home, after being displaced for over a year.
In addition to building a brand new home for Denise and her family, we have completed 26 repairs on homes impacted by storms, and plan to complete another 3 projects in the coming weeks. Of the projects that still remain, they range from small repairs to roofs and porches, all the way to full home rebuilds.
Thank you for your continued support as we work to get families back into their homes!
