Habitat Birmingham is continuing to serve families impacted by the tornadoes that came through on April 28th, 2014. So far in 2015, we have completed 10 repairs on homes impacted by storms, and we have another 14 still to come. Of the projects that still remain, they range from small repairs to roofs and porches, all the way to full home rebuilds.
Over the past 3 months, we've had over out-of-town 400 students travel to Birmingham on their spring break to help with housing issues, both disaster and non-disaster related. We are proud to be a part of this community's disaster recovery plan, as well as a member of the Central Alabama Long-Term Recovery Committee.
As we enter the 2015 tornado season, we remind all of the families in the community the importance of continued severe weather awareness and safety. Your support of our efforts to build homes, communities and hope is greatly appreciated!
