We support 150 orphaned children in conflict-affected North Kivu, DR Congo by renovating a rundown orphanage into a safe, nurturing home. Through infrastructure upgrades, improved sanitation, and psychosocial support, we aim to protect vulnerable orphans and help them heal. This project gives hope to children left behind by war and poverty in eastern DRCongo.
In North Kivu, eastern DR Congo, years of armed conflict and poverty have destroyed families, leaving thousands of children orphaned and unprotected. Many are forced into overcrowded, unsafe shelters with broken infrastructure and no basic services. These fragile conditions expose children to hunger, disease, and trauma, deepening an already dire humanitarian crisis.
By rehabilitating the orphanage in North Kivu, we will provide a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for 150 vulnerable children. Renovations include building upgrades, proper sanitation, access to food and clean water, and training caregivers. Children will receive psychosocial support and education, ensuring they heal from trauma and grow with dignity and hope for a better future.
This project creates lasting change by providing safe shelter, education, and emotional support to orphaned children in DRC. In the long term, it strengthens community-based child protection and empowers local caregivers. By restoring the orphanage, we're planting the seeds for a generation of resilient, educated children who will rebuild their communities and break the cycle of poverty and violence.
