Who we serve Each year 2,400 D.C. residents return home from the Federal Government Bureau of Prison facilities and have a very limited chance at the economic opportunity due to many complex pre-employment barriers. Because these hurdles, if not addressed, substantially decreases economic opportunities while increasing a Returning Citizen's likelihood of re-committing a crime, our organization works with individuals to tackle, head-on, the challenges to gaining employment.

I
Ready 4 Work provides returning citizens with an intense course of workforce preparation. Our network of employers informs us of expectations and qualifying criteria for employment. With that, we are able to offer Ready4Work attendees the best practices for creating resumes and cover letters, the behavior needed for successful job interviews, and the basics of banking, credit and financial responsibility. We also provide job search tips and tools, and connect returning citizens to real jobs.
We are creating this project as a way to obtain the items required for the Ready 4 Work Program. We are asking for your help in achieving a true transformational opportunity for our clients, overcoming the initial barrier to gaining an interview - begin able to dress the part and having tools to participate in the workforce. Your contribution will go a long way to helping these individuals to reintegrate back successfully in their community through economic opportunity.
