Challenge

In almost every street and corner in Freetown there are mentally ill persons been neglected by their family and society. They've not being given good food, if at all, and are left to fend for themselves from rubbish dumps, which are not healthy and dignifying.

Solution

By providing food for the mentally ill patients, it will help build the relationship, trust and confidence between them, the social workers, the mental health nurses, parents/guidance and even the society in which they live. Drugs can be administered which will restore their health and social well-being. There will be the creation of awareness and the reduction in the level of stigma.

Long-Term Impact

The project will enable their reintegration into society, increase their dignity and human right, increased their productivity and support for family. There will be less and less mentally ill people in the street corners of Freetown. The level of awareness raised will increase, with reduction in stigma, abuse and discrimination.
