Hello friends of REACH!
Over the past 2 years, you have contributed to over $7000.00 of fundraising for REACH's projects. We are humbled and extremely grateful for your show of support for our dream of making an impact on improving health outcomes in Ghana.
This month, we were excited to connect with our Advisory Board Member, Dr. Paul Farmer. Maame and Nancy on the REACH team heard Dr Paul Farmer narrate some of his experiences with Partners in Health in Haiti, and the new direction of the country as pertains to health and development. He made comparisons between Haiti and Rwanda, where Partners in Health is also based. In spite of the tremendous setback that Rwanda faced in the early '90s during the genocide, Rwanda now enjoys high-quality health care in several communities and is now an emerging global health success story. That's pretty amazing!
Here at REACH, we are taking inspiration from these advances and continuing to model our Mobile Clinic project. We are working with experts at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health to find out how we can incorporate better access to surgical care into our Mobile Clinic model, which primarily focuses on medical approaches. We are currently in the recruitment process for our first full-time staff member, and we will be sure to keep you posted with progress on that.
Kindly note that our website is hosted at www.reachgh.org.
Thank you so much for your generosity. We are excited about hear about the impact that your gifts have made through our screenathons, and we hope you feel the same anticipation that we do about the great potential of our burgeoning Mobile Clinic.
With warm regards!
