This project will raise awareness about mental health, it's impact on our community, how to care for those with mental health disabilities, and providing access to mental health resources to 200 young adults, parents, and community residents.
Mental health being an intangible illness makes it harder to not only diagnose without a professional, but also forces many people to avoid acknowledging these issues in general. Studies show 1 in 4 people will be affected by mental disorders in some point in their life. About 450 million people worldwide currently suffer from mental illnesses.
This project will encourage heartfelt thinking of loved ones lost to mental health disorders, those enduring mental health disorders, and those seeing signs of such. RAWS will provide resources to encourage self reflection and further resources to getting proper treatment and assistance to bettering the community's mental state as it affects us and those around us. Additionally, professionals will be able to provide pointers and tips for dealing with our loved ones who show signs of MHD
This project will educate and promote the awareness of mental health disorders to over 1,000 residents, annually; which will begin to eradicate the plague of avoiding the idea of mental health disorders existing.
