Summary

Thousands of girls affected by poverty, disaster and lack of opportunities got trafficked from West Bengal. More than 800 sex trafficked victims who were rescued by GGBK from dehumanizing slavery like conditions will be restored dignity through psycho-social support and economic empowerment for a safe and dignified life in the society.

Challenge

The challenges: the girls and youth women are being trafficked, Disaster, unemployment, child labour, dowry. girls & youth women, separated & divorce women, victims of domestic violence, unsafe migrated and disaster effected people. Forced to trafficking, the survivors lead vulnerable lives, selling to the brothels, suffering from Life-threatening disease. Rescued trafficked survivors, who need for Shelter, legal, livelihood, health, mental and capacity building support.

Solution

Shelter, Protection, Legal and livelihood support, capacity building training with practices of restorative justice along with health and mental supports may minimize the problems.

Long-Term Impact

It will increase the self confidence, solvency, decision making power, lead lives in-dignity and self respects. Survivors collective, survivors may take effective role to control human trafficking by organizing survivors collective groups.
