World Arts Access just completed RTI, and what an amazing project it was! With our terrific partners at Jack Straw Productions, we engaged 72 children in poetry writing, collage making, singing, and poetry recording. The students were participants in the Summer Learning Program run by East African Community Services and the Vietnamese Friendship Association in South Seattle. During RTI, they explored how they see their world by making world map collages and how they view themselves by writing poetry about the things that are most important to them. It was a privilege to watch their creativity and excitement as they read their poems into a microphone and sang together about what makes them special.
We are excited to show you through photos and recordings what a wonderful experience this project was. A more detailed report will be sent in the coming weeks with photos and links to recordings of the children singing and reciting their poetry.
Right now, we want to extend our gratitude for your support; you made this project a success. Thank you.
