The OMIFAC Initiative

With the challenge of an acute shortage of brachytherapy units in Nigeria, approximately 98% short of the World Health Organization recommendation for Nigeria. St Cyril Cancer Treatment Foundation initiated a project titled Radiotherapy for 10,000 women in Nigeria whose long term impact will be reducing the mortality of women with cervical cancer. Additionally, this project aligns with the WHO's SDGs #3 directly and Indirectly with the other 16 goals.
However, since the inception of this project, the goal of raising $1 million to build a brachytherapy unit hasn't been impressive. We have only been able to raise the sum of $395.89. In lieu of this, we require finances in order to provide a brachytherapy unit at our Surulere Cancer Treatment Center and a Comprehensive Cancer Treatment Center in a centralised and accessible location in Nigeria.

We will be expanding the project to incorporate the OMIFAC INITIATIVE.OMIFAC is an acronym for One Million Individuals Fighting Against cancer. It is an initiative organized by St. Cyril Cancer Treatment Foundation targeted at having one million people donate NGN1,000 monthly for the next 12 months (1 year) to build a brachytherapy Unit in Surulere, Lagos State and a Comprehensive Cancer Treatment Center in a centralised location in Nigeria. For this initiative, people will donate a little amount of money on a monthly basis for a year, and the money will be used to construct a brachytherapy unit and comprehensive cancer centre. We hope to raise funds and publicise the Initiative to Individuals and communities all over the world including corporate bodies.

We sincerely hope you'll be a part of this project and also bring friends and family on board.

Thank you so much for your time and all that you do for the sake of humanity.
