About five years ago, i had two children but both of them died due to the water bourne diseases. most of the water we access, be it from dams, rivers etc is really contaminated and so we have to boil first before we consume. And sometimes boiling is not sufficient enough to kill the germs in the water that courses water bourn diseases. However we have had to access a unique machine called life straw which filters the water and makes it pure. this gadget was brought in our region by a swiss company called vester guard Frandsen. Sewerage System In Kondele - Kisumu

By a female, 22-30 years old, in Kisumu, Kenya
Map of SEWERAGE SYSTEM IN KONDELE - KISUMU Sewerage system helps to get rid of sewer in public places. This is not the case in Kondele in Kisumu city. There are no sewerage systems. the sewer just flows openly along the streets and even on trenches in front of people's homes. The trenches are dug to enhance the flow of water and sewerage materials. Unfortunately, the trenches are not even cemented and get to expand each passing day. Other people use the trenches as urinal pits hence making them to have a really bad smell. No one shows concern over the trenches and most of them have been blocked and this really poses a danger to the lives of many residents especially to the children who even play in the trenches and this may lead to diseases among the people in this community.
