Challenge

The problem of abandoning of elderly has rapidly increased across India. Elderly are suffering from various mental problems such as Alzheimer's and Dementia. The Physical problems include paralysis, bed sores, fractures and maggot infestation. Most of the elderly suffering from the above ailments are abandoned on the roadsides, footpaths, parks, hospitals and train stations. Many are tortured and beaten to such an extent that they become disabled & eventually end up on roads and Die.

Solution

We rescue the abandoned and destitute elderly from the streets suffering from various Mental and Physical disabilities. We provide them nutritious food, clothing, safe accommodation and medical facilities such as Daily checkup, Regular medication, Physiotherapy, ICU, X-Ray, Pathology Lab, 24x7 Doctors and Nurses, organize recreational activities for their mental and physical well-being and rehabilitate them. The project will enable us to move a step ahead in providing these facilities to them.

Long-Term Impact

The Old Age Home acts as a safe haven for all the neglected and abandoned elderly. We do awareness campaigns among school and college students about Alzheimer and Dementia to nurture the feeling of responsibility they should have towards their grand-parents. Our rescue team constantly picks up elderly. We try to locate their families and reunite them and counsel them. We keep the elderly at our Old Age Home and provide them with all the facilities they need so that they live an honorable life.
