BESO Foundation works to break the cycle of poverty by providing a high-quality, free education to over 600 disadvantaged, bright students from the Kayunga District of Uganda to become moral and intellectual leaders in their country. Mothers organised into saving groups are also supported to increase household income. Your donation will help provide a student with a uniform, meals, medicine, and supplies for one school year.
In 2010 a child called Mark Mubiru of 6 years in North Eastern Uganda was knocked to death by a local taxi motorcycle while taking a long walk of 5 miles to the nearest school where 100+ students try to cram into. Driven by this injustice, 80 mothers and BESO started a school for Mark and other children like him with only $1600 budget. Your support helps children like Mark have access to quality education, health care and basic needs and be able to break the cycle of poverty.
