The project will promote use of safe water so as to fight disease burden among 50 pregnant women and lactating mothers, living HIV positive and their households. This will further promote child and maternal health.
People living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV) including mothers, face challenges of being exposed to water borne related diseases. This greatly affects their health. Most of them are weak to boil water. In incidences where caretakers have not provided safe water, PLHIV end up swallowing tablets with unsafe water, putting their lives to risk. Ignorance about water related disease to one's health is also still high. The project is targeting HIV positive mothers and their households to reduce disease burden.
The project is to promote awareness on use of safe water. It will also provide a Solvatten solar safe water system to 50 pregnant women and lactating mothers living HIV positive.
The project will promote child and maternal health.
