The idea of the project is to strengthen the capacities of Al-Awda Health & Community Association to provide life-saving health services to the injured through its 8 health facilities due to the recent Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, which have claimed the lives of 31 martyrs so far, including 6 children & 4 women, in addition to injuring 275 persons, as these services will contribute to saving the lives of the injured, reducing complications & limiting disabilities, mainly children & women.
The injured as a result of the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip face severe challenges in light of the sharp decline in health services provided in the Ministry of Health -MoH's facilities. Therefore, AWDA declared a state of emergency and harnessed all its health facilities to provide relief to the injured in need of life-saving services but if faces challenge to provide these services to the injured due to the acute shortage of medication & medical consumables adding to power outage crisis.
The project will contribute to the provision of medication and medical consumables necessary to save the lives of the injured and to provide quantities of fuel needed to operate the electrical generators in light of the power outage crisis, in order to ensure the continued operation of the AWDA's health facilities and the sustainability of its life-saving services to the victims of the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
The project will contribute to creating a positive deviation on the lives of the injured, including providing a healthy environment suitable for their survival and reducing the possibility of permenent disabilities. Moreover, the project will contribute to increasing AWDA's ability to respond to emergencies and provide logistical support to continue providing its humanitarian services.
