Winter Quarter at GlobeMed was a busy one! Most of our work was centered on community building and chapter engagement at our weekly meetings. Chapter meetings focused on a variety of topics including understanding and learning different types of healthcare systems in the States and abroad. Our big events this quarter was a roundtable discussion regarding the Syrian Refugee Crisis and our annual World Day of Social Justice Event. Our esteemed speakers at the Syrian Refugee Crisis discussion included Sufyan Sohel of CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) and Mufaddal Hamadeh of the Syrian American Medical Society. Our World Day of Social Justice event was centered around giving students the opportunity to write letters and contact their local representatives about issues affecting our country today. Upcoming events for our chapter include a Krispy Kreme Donut sale for Finals week and GlobeMed summit at the end of the month! Stay tuned for more updates!
