GlobeMed at Northwestern had an extremely exciting spring as we successfully hosted our first ever Night of Appreciation/benefit dinner! In this incredible event we were able to reflect on GlobeMed’s past, thank our supporters, hear from key professionals in the field of global health and reflect on our amazing partnership with Adonai. We raised over $2,000 through ticket sales and our silent auction and had over 50 individuals in attendance. All of the funds from the night will go directly to supplying the health clinic at Adonai.
Additionally, we hosted our annual individual giving campaign this spring, which was also a huge success. Through online fundraising, pitches and individual campaigning, our chapter raised $4,900! Our chapter members reached out to family, friends and their fellow Northwestern peers to personally garner donations for our Ugandan partner. This campaign was one of our most successful yet!
Just last week the GROW (Grassroots On-site Work) team embarked on their journey to Namugoga, Uganda. This will be our third trip to the Adonai Centre! The team will be staying for 5 weeks, conducting research on malaria and bed nets, implementing current projects, and seeing the results and impact of our fundraising. We are so excited for the GROW team to come back with updates and meaningful experiences so that we can continue to build this incredible relationship!
Thank you so much for your continued support throughout the 2014-2015 year. We would not be able to accomplish our goals without you and we are so grateful for your contributions. We can’t wait to share what the coming year will bring with you!
