We hope everyone had a good and relaxing holiday season. We are very excited to be back on campus to learn more about global health and engage in new fundraising efforts for Adonai. Last season was extremely successful, as we raised over $3,000 for the child health center through a two day holiday sweater sale, the most a Northwestern GlobeMed campaign has ever raised.
We also selected our GROW team last month; these four students will be traveling to Uganda this summer to see how our work and your donations are impacting the Adonai Center. This team has been working fervently on crafting the itinerary and a research product for the trip. We are all very excited that in March, Aloysious and his wife Abby will be coming to visit the United States and will make a stop in Chicago to meet our chapter! This is an incredible opportunity for all of us to be able to interact and learn about Adonai firsthand, as well as for Adonai to actually see the work we do here in Evanston.
The chapter has been constantly learning and asking questions about Adonai and the history and society in Uganda. All of our members care deeply about our partners and bettering the world, and this clearly permeates throughout our discussions during all of our meetings. The Adonai Centre is an amazing organization for its community and we are incredibly excited to continue this relationship for the third year. We are looking forward to meeting Aloysious in a few months and to discuss hiring health care professionals at the health center as well as furnishing the center for future use.
