Dear Project Supporters,
I am very pleased to share with you the progress that has been made over the last three months towards opening AMOR's new clinic at the Aschiana School for Street Children. The renovation of one of the buildings at the school is well underway. These renovations will result in a 6 bed clinic with a pharmacy, indoor waiting area and vaccination room. Construction is scheduled to be complete by November 15, 2012....or maybe earlier!!
The exam tables to be used in each of the clinic rooms were donated by Direct Relief International. They have passed customs inspection in Kabul and are in storage waiting for the rooms to be completed. Direct Relief has also donated a sterilzation machine to be used for the instuments that are used during procedures at the clinic, it has also passed customs and is waiting to be installed. A very heartfelt "Thank You" to Direct Relief for their support and contribution to this project!
It is now time to put your Donation dollars to work! Dr Mark, CEO of AMOR, is currently in Kabul and is securing the supplies and medications that are necessary for the daily operations of the clinic. Dr. Bashitie, a graduate of the Family Medicine Residency program at Afshar hospital and Head physician at the clinic, is assisting with the beginning stages of operation and is looking forward to starting the interview process of the nurses and other staff required at the clinic.
Thank you very much for your continued support of this much needed clinic. There are now 7000 registered childen at the Aschiana School for Street Children in Kabul that this clinic will serve. This will also be the only clinic within a mile radius in a community of high rise appartment buildings. Because of your generous donations AMOR will be able to bring health care and education into this community.
