Challenge

Displaced and vulnerable populations don't have a home or income generating opportunities; they suffer from poverty, illiteracy, lack of housing, unemployment. This project aims to create self sustainable communities whereby people can construct their own house, access training for employment skills and become small entrepreneurs that can serve the needs of the very community they live in. The project will benefit approximately 65,000 people (20,000) families in Barranquilla, Colombia

Solution

The project will construct schools, training centers, churches, health centers, a police station and provide credit for 20,000 families to build their houses. Materials and workmanship needed will be provided by previously trained community members

Long-Term Impact

This project will address the critical needs of 20,000 extremely marginalized families that are living in the streets or with relatives, that have been displaced and currently lack a home, a skill a job and a source of income.
