Two Beneficiaries of Taia with hearing impairement
Taia Development Programme project code 16582 did not receive donation during the March, 2014 globalgiving challenge. The $95.75 amount raised during the December, 2013 globalgiving motivated nine (9) disabled children and their parents for education and lifelong learning. They reliased that, their are people around the world who cares about thier welfare. The membership of Taia Development Programme also raised $100 as internal fund raising for the project code 16582 in march, 2014. The money was used to pay the tuition fees of ten (10) primary four disabled children within the age of (12-14).
ACTION POINTS: We plan to be focused and committed in seeking funding support for the project " Provide Education Support for 100 Disabled Children".

Taia Development programme (TDP) is registered with the Ministry of local Government and rural Development, rupublic of Sierra Leone. It has an executive of eleven (11) people. There are six women (6) and five (5) men in the executive.The organization has a borard that comprised five (5) members of which three (3) shall form the quorum. The organization works on the promotion of children, youth and women rights. Taia Development Programme has extended it coordinating efforts to Women World Summit Foundation (WWSF), a Switzerland based international coalition with United Nations (UN) Consultative status (ECOSOC, UNFPA and DPI) Working on women and children/youth rights first. Taia Development programme won the 2011 international prize award for the best innovative child abuse and violence prevention activities carried out in the midst of 473 organizations from 113 countries. Taia Development programme was placed second position among the four (4) wining organizations. The award was for international recognition, visibility and support.
Taia Development Programme (TDP) joined globalgiving in july/August 2013 for an online fund raising traing and resource mobilization.Taia Development programme was approved and was given intensive on line training and tools to part take in the December, 2013 fund raising challenge. The threshold for Taia Development Programme was to raised $5,000 from forty (40) donors from the 1-31st December, 2013. Taia Development Programme raised $115 in the December, 2013 challenge. $95.75 was transferred to Taia Development Programme after globalgiving has deducted it service fees of $15.
Here is the breakdown of how the $95.75 was epent. Nine (9) disabled children from Moyamba district benefited from the $95.75 donation. School bags were bought at the proze of $10 each for the nine (9) children. This was to motivate children with disability to continue education. The remainig 75 cent remain in the organization bank account. For the purpose of this project " provide Education Support for 100 Disabled children" means, children with physical, sensory, mental or other impairment which has long term adverse effect on a child ability to carry out day to day normal activity, but can enabled through education. We recommend increase donor support to Taia Development programme since education enable the disabled. Education provides the enablening eniroments for persons with disability to be integrated into the working force and to take development actions for themselves.
