Tusuubira Women's Development Agency plans to supply 5 in-calf dairy heifers and construct 5 cattle sheds to offer 5 rural disadvantaged and needy families in Namayumba Sub County with a reliable and sustainable source of income. This project will additionally provide needed trainings on proper dairy cow management and support veterinary services to the targeted 35 poor and disadvantaged people by the organisation's veterinary officer .
Poverty has pushed youth in Uganda to urban centers in search for greener pastures. This has left a number of families relying on the aged and unproductive members. In Namayumba Sub County, the situation is worse in some families with disabled children that have to be provided for by these elderly members who can hardly provide for themselves. Tusuubira Women's Development Agency thus plans to provide 5 such needy and marginalised families with dairy cows as a less laborious source of income.
We shall procure and distribute 5 in-calf dairy heifers, construct 5 cow sheds, conduct training workshops, offer them technical guidance to establish good pasture gardens and conduct follow up visits to the 5 benefiting needy and disadvantaged families.
The project will provide 5 elderly headed households with high quality dairy cows which will help improve their household members' nutrition and income and ultimately boost their living conditions.
This project has provided additional documentation in a DOCX file (projdoc.docx).
