Malawi ranks high in poverty levels with 65% of population living below poverty line. The rural people are mostly hard hit by high levels of poverty and many have never tasted good life. This project aims at providing care to 100 old women in Lilongwe Rural areas for them to taste good life before their death. The project will provide materials necessity to their lives such as food, clothes, iron sheets to roof their grass thatched homes, cooking utensils and buckets for drawing water
The problem is that old women especially in rural areas are hard hit by the consequences of high poverty in Malawi. They sleep with empty stomach during most of their lives, they have homes that leak during rainy season (grass thatched), they do not have good clothes and sleep without blankets during cold seasons. Old poor women are living like those days before civilization.
At least the old, poor disadvantaged women need to taste good life before their death. The project will provide them with blankets, food, iron sheets for roofing, cooking materials and clothes to improve their living condition
Most of the material that would be provided to them are long lasting and in addition to that, the community will buy the idea such that they will take the project as a model to assist other poor old people
