The RIA sets itself apart from other educational and technology initiatives by giving its users the tools needed to develop digital skills: selection and development of relevant educational content, a technology-equipped learning space, a blended e-learning model with skilled instructors, and analyses of student performance to revise and improve course content.
Going beyond technological infrastructure and connectivity, the RIA provides content based on community needs and what matters to the users that come into a course.
We've also realized that RIA's students learn faster if they practice their english talking about what matters to them. In their final submit, the students could give in a video, or a podcast about a subject they chose. This is how they chose to call our attention about cyber bullyng, violence against women, etc.
Here's an example of their great work! http://youtu.be/2vIJBlz5y6k
