For some months Aleimar family has expanded with the new project "Flowers of blooms" in Ethiopia: this is one of the poorest countries in the world and the conditions are made more and more dramatic by the low productivity due to drought and the increasing population increase. Extreme poverty forces families to live in unsafe situations: cases of crime, violence and child abuse are now the order of the day. It is precisely in the fight against these events that Aleimar, in collaboration with the association Il Sole Onlus, operates in the capital Addis Ababa, welcoming abused children and providing medical, psychological and legal assistance. The challenge that this project presents is really great and that's why we decided to share it with all GlobalGiving donors. And as always your answer was immediately positive! In just two months since the project was loaded, we have raised almost 700 euros, of which $ 600 thanks to the LittlebyLittle campaign in April. We are really satisfied and grateful for this first great result: the donations will allow to provide psychological support to at least 3 children victims of sexual violence and to find part of the material for therapeutic courses (theater, music, dance and photography). Thanks to the art abused children express their feelings in full freedom and return to relate to the outside world. Just in these days, Andrea Moroni, the project manager of the Il Sole Onlus partner association, is in Ethiopia to check the progress of the intervention and to gather the necessary documentation in order to work out, in collaboration with the University Milano-Bicocca, an integrated intervention program for abused children that can also be replicated in other countries. Waiting for updates from Andrea, we thank you for your valuable support; we are sure that together we can win this challenge and bring these small and beautiful flowers to life.
