When Angela called us and said she was ready to flee her abuser and come home earlier this month, we had the funds available to also get Pebbles, Angela's cat, home with her, because donations like yours.

Here is a quote from Angela:

"I could not leave Pebbles behind and the American Embassy would not include the costs of getting Pebbles home in my repatriation loan. I didn't know what to do. Then I called you and here I am, home, safe with Pebbles. Thank you so, so much."

I personally know how important your donations are to victims in need. If you are interested in learning more about why I founded the Americans Overseas Domestic Violence Crisis Center, you can read the first chapter of my memoir for free at www.harvestingstonesbook.com

I can't thank you enough for chosing to donate to protect pets in domestic violence crisis on Global Giving.

Warmest wishes always, Paula

Protecting Pets
Protecting Pets

Because of you we helped three times the number of pets in domestic violence crisis in 2013 as compared to 2012! That is an incredible increase because of caring people like you who understand how important pets are to families.

This holiday sixteen families will be safe in a home with their pets away from violence. We are beyond grateful for your support.

Here is a quote from a grateful pet owner: "Having Misty with us during our escape back home in October was the most important thing for my kids. If we would have had to leave her behind we would have been devastated. Saying thank you is not enough. I hope one day I can become financially stable enough to donate to your pets program."

For those of you who already give recurring donations to our protecting pets in domestic violence program, we thank you so much. For those of you who have not given recurring donations, please consider becoming a recurring donor between December 20th and December 31st and Global Giving will match your December donation 100% as long as the recurring donation lasts four months.

If you give $20 a month for four months, your $80 becomes $100!

We sincerely thank you for your support and wish you and your loved ones a happy holiday.

When Constance and her children were ready to flee abuse in France and come home, they didn't have the money to bring their beloved labrador Waldo home with them. Because of your donations we were able to get Waldo the necessary vaccinations, a kennel and paid the shipping fees for Waldo back to the USA.

Constance and her children are now in a transitional housing program in the mid-west. Their healing from abuse with take time, and there are still legal battles to fight, but Waldo continues to provide the unconditional love that is so important in healing his family's trauma.

Thank you for all that you do to help protect pets in domestic violence crisis!

Warmest wishes, Paula

Because of your generous donations Romeo and Juliet, the beloved kitties of Jessica, are safe and sound back in the USA. Jessica doesn't have children but considers Romeo and Juliet her babies. When she needed to flee back to the USA to escape her violent husband the American Embassy would only give her a repatriation loan for her but not for her kitties. Juliet contacted us, and because of you, Jessica was able to get Romeo and Juliet back home safe with her.

Here is a note from Jessica: I am home happy and safe with Romeo & Juliet! They are my precious babies and because of you they are home with me away from the terrible abuse. When my husband would get mad at me he would throw my babies against the wall. There aren't words to thank you enough for helping us get home safely.
