To understand the impacts of the long- term imprisonment of mothers to the enjoyment of the rights of their children
Children from imprisonment of mothers often face serious difficulties in their lives that affect their ability to succeed in school and abuse of their rights including evictions, dangerous or unhealthy building conditions and loss of crucial government benefits such as food stuff and medical services, immigration issues. These families facing imprisonment mothers may go through the homeless shelters system or move to streets, landing sites and different neighborhood halting child's education.
The research will be conducted in Lira women's prison using the individual informed and qualitative approach; the research will be further on review children of the incarcerated women in various parts of the country.
Mapping report on the impacts of long -term imprisonment of mothers and has had upon their children containing a set of recommendations for policy and practice in Uganda.
