It has been very inspiring to see the work that you do globalgiving and the humanitarian community , the Sanid organization . Expresses its deep gratitude to all the humanitarian supporters who are doing their best to help the Yemeni society and alleviate its suffering. In the midst of an escalating global food insecurity crisis, hope is waning for millions already suffering from extreme hunger .   It is the hope to save him from the specter of famine that has reached him. And According to the Yemen Humanitarian Needs Overview document (HNO) for the year 2023

In the Aslam district, one of the districts of Hajjah Governorate and one of the poorest regions of Yemen, there is famine, epidemics and diseases, not to mention being a conflict and war because it is a border area with Saudi Arabia, which as a result has become an arena of wars and continuous conflicts that has led to depriving it of the most basic services and suffering from an applied siege and making it a military zone in which the humanitarian conditions have worsened. The most important of which is the famine that led to malnutrition among children under the age of five and pregnant and lactating women, as these children and women are considered the most vulnerable and sick. They struggle every day for their lives and need immediate specialized care to save their lives in order to survive . . A child with severe acute malnutrition is 9 times more likely to die than a well-nourished child. For this reason, the ambition of the organization's work is to continue life-saving care for the child in more than 8 centers during the year 2023 for therapeutic feeding throughout Hajjah governorate. . In the event that the capabilities are available, this is the ambition of its goals.

Hajjah is one of the Yemeni governorates with a high prevalence of acute malnutrition

. They need a projectEmergency health and nutrition project and emergency human capital project

l Vital nutrition services are provided to the most vulnerable communities. There are eight therapeutic feeding centers

It lacks sufficient support to cover the needs of malnourished people, whether nutritional supplements, the most important of which is therapeutic milk.

It is also in dire need of rehabilitation, furnishing, equipment and supplies .

According to the analysis, Aslam district is the most vulnerable in Hajjah governorate , where food insecurity and acute malnutrition converge to extremely high levels .
For severe malnutrition, the WHZ score range in this directorate , a measure of wasting for children under five, from 17% to 26%, well above the emergency threshold for those concerned of 15%, while for severe food insecurity, this directorate (Aslam) The highest prevalence rates, with more than 65 percent of the population in the third stage of classification, are obtained by the official authorities and the follow-up of the situation for food insecurity and above at the present time .
It is also expected that a large number of the targeted district will move to higher IPC stages, with significantly reduced levels of humanitarian food assistance .

A report

Addressing malnutrition for children under five, lactating women and pregnant women
Among the displaced and the host community in the Al-Ara region - Hamedan - Sana'a
July 2022/August 2022 AD

Prepared the report: Muhammad Abu Haider

More than eight years after the outbreak of the conflict, suffering The Yemeni people are suffering from severe economic decline and the burden of ongoing hostilities. The health care system remains a victim of conflict in Yemen, where poverty, hunger and unsafe drinking water have taken a heavy toll. The already dire humanitarian situation in Yemen has been exacerbated by the outbreak of successive diseases such as cholera and diphtheria. Malnutrition and monkeypox , which discovered some cases infected with this disease, which added a burden on Yemeni society in general and the health sector in particular, in light of the lack of the most basic health services.

The Russian-Ukrainian war has added a new and great burden to the suffering of the Yemeni people economically and healthily, as the food crisis of the Yemeni family, especially the poor ones, has worsened, which has increased the number of malnutrition cases, which portends a humanitarian catastrophe, the first in the world, where the severe weakness in the health field, which stands helpless in the face of this increase. In cases of malnutrition and other infectious diseases, including the seasonal ones associated with torrential rains, airports and floods, which made us in Sanid double the effort in working to alleviate this suffering through continuous work in receiving sick cases related to malnutrition and reproductive health in particular by providing what we could provide from the possibilities to get out. The least human losses due to disease and nutritional deficiencies..

The Yemeni society and the health sector are facing a major problem in meeting the health needs , despite their magnitude , at a time when the health system is on the verge of collapse. Most health facilities were either partially damaged or completely destroyed by the conflict, and health workers have not been paid for several years. . There is also a shortage of medicines and medical equipment. Outbreaks of epidemic diseases and waterborne diseases such as cholera and diphtheria, and the recent outbreak of monkeypox virus show how severe public health the current situation is..

As malnutrition is spreading rapidly among children, nursing mothers and pregnant women , the situation of Yemeni children and families is expected to worsen, with 24 million people expected to be half of them children (80% of the population) in need of humanitarian assistance, protection and basic health care assistance. He further stated that 10 million people need food assistance to survive and that seven million are malnourished, making the situation in Yemen the worst humanitarian crisis in the world..

As one The most important health problem is malnutrition, which is already considered a critical threat in Yemen. Good nutrition and access to adequate food remain a challenge for a child's survival. There is a consensus about the direct causes of malnutrition and food insecurity in Yemen, which include poverty, illiteracy, lack of clean water supplies, low levels of breastfeeding, and dependence on imported cereals as basic materials, which became difficult to obtain in light of the Russian-Ukrainian war, which exacerbated the economic and humanitarian situation in Yemen. . The conflict in Yemen, which plays a clear role in exacerbating malnutrition, has escalated dramatically for nearly eight years, and is exacerbating an already severe and long-running humanitarian crisis. Therefore, conflict and insecurity remain the main drivers of food insecurity and malnutrition that have pushed the most vulnerable families to the brink of starvation.
