After 32 years of championing girls' rights, education, and gender justice in India, Shadhika will be closing its doors in 2025. We invite you to be a part of Shadhika's legacy and stand-up for girls' rights by helping us to raise the remaining $150,000 of our larger $250,000 goal needed by November 15 2024 to finish supporting Shadhika Scholars and Program Partners so they can continue to do their vital girls' leadership, advocacy, and rights work in India.
After 32 years of service to girls and women in India, Shadhika is closing its doors by June 2025. As Shadhika prepares to sunset, we urgently need you to invest in the education of girls and the protection of their rights with Shadhika, for one last time. We must raise $250,000 by November 15 2024 to ensure the uninterrupted education of 134 current Shadhika Scholars and the work of our Program Partners, across India.
Through the Scholarship program, Shadhika currently supports the college education of 134 young women from underserved regions of India, most of whom are first-generation students. Through the Support for Success grant program, Shadhika supports 8 local Program Partners working with some of the most underserved communities in India. These Program Partners work to address child marriage, human trafficking, gender based violence, and other regressive mindsets infringing upon women's rights.
Our Partners and Scholars are pushing the needle towards a more just and equitable future every single day. Their actions mean that newer generations of women and girls will have better access to education and health, have greater support to challenge unjust oppressive practices, and will have role models ahead of them to chart a powerful future. Shadhika is currently supporting 134 Scholars and 8 Program Partners, each of whom is doing critical work to transform the future of their communities.
