Please click the link bellow to watch the rehabilitation process of one of our most recent beneficiary.
He is Jose Inocencio, a 13 year old boy who lost both legs due to a landmine accident in a small village located in the state of Arauca (Northeastern Colombia) called Tame. On August 6th, 2010 Jose Inocencio was walking with other people, when he accidently stepped on a landmine. Every person was injured, but none as profoundly as he was wounded.
With the support of many generous donors, United for Colombia was able to finance state-of-the-art prostheses from Otto Bock, at Bogota (Colombian Capital) facilities, a world-renowned prosthesis manufacturer and treatment center. Additionally, he received physical therapies and psychological counseling to help him adjust to the loss of their limbs and to accept their new prostheses satisfactorily.
He is very happy because he can walk again and he’s very grateful for all the support received. He can now carry out many activities and even play soccer (as shown in the video), his favorite sport. His dream is to become an Airplane Pilot.
With your help more children can walk again. Give them the opportunity to regain a sense of hope for a better future.
Thanks to our donors
