The project intends to procure 80 school uniforms, 80 school shoes, 80 school bags for girls in 8 schools and construction of 4 girls sanitary toilets in 4 schools in Senior Chief Mwilang'ombe, Paramount chief Kyungu and senior chief Wasambo in Karonga district Malawi. All these activities will be done in conjunction with different stakeholders.
Malawi being one of the poorest countries in the World, it means its families follow within poverty cycle, therefore many children especially girls face a lot of challenges like (a) high school dropout rate and absenteeism due to lack of proper girls sanitary facilities in their schools and school uniforms and other school materials, (b) Early marriages and pregnancies due to lack of knowledge on child protection and participation.
(a) Will provide school materials such as school uniforms, school bags, school shoes, school note books and school mathematical instruments to 80 girls in 8 schools. This will help to reduce absenteeism and school drop out rate. (b) By providing 4 girls sanitary toilets in 4 schools will help to reduce diseases such as diarrhea.
(a) By providing with the school materials to 80 girls will help them to complete their primary education. (b) It will improve the enrollment of girls at school (C) When a girl child is provided with quality education, this will help to combat ignorance among girls in turn will help to reduce population growth. (d) Absenteeism and school drop out will be reduced. (e) the provision of girls sanitary toilets will help to reduce the outbreaks of water borne diseases such as cholera and diarrhea.
