Imagine loosing everything; family, home and dignity in one night. This is the reality of the survivors of the massive mudslide and flooding which occurred on August 14th 2017, in Freetown Sierra Leone. Today more than 1,000 displaced victims living in the affected communities such as Kaningo, and Regent are at the mercies of NGO's, because they have been neglected by the Sierra Leonean government. With limited holding facilities and prospects of a cholera outbreak these victims need help.
Project Recovery- Post Flood, will help victims gain a sense of dignity as we help them regain all that they have lost during the flood. CPCSSL has facilitated donation drives across the United States to ensure that these victims are provided the necessary aid needed. This project will help us address, psycho-social, and sanitation concerns by helping these victims gain not only permanent shelter but previsionary assistance to get back on their feet, and recover what they have lost.
This project will impact those affected by the flood, allowing them to rise out of poverty, place them in suitable housing , providing them with medical attention, and the necessary provisions to begin living and thriving again. This project will also help us help these victims to reintegrate back into society.
